HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN! Could this be where artist Andres Serrano (lambasted by members of the US Senate) got the idea for “Piss Christ,” his notorious 1989 sculpture of a crucifix submerged in urine & cow’s blood? When a pregnant nun fesses up who the daddy is she’s beaten & force-fed a bucket of salt water so that if she urinates over an image of Christ it means she’s a witch! Not only does a torrential flood of pee coat the icon but drooling droplets of slo-mo crimson from internal bleeding poetically splash & mingle in what has to be one of the most sacrilegious images in cinematic history! The heading for this Motion Picture Purgatory which originally appeared in a 2005 issue of The Montreal Mirror was “‘Piss Christ’ Precursor!” As always; the original art’s for sale @ 100 bucks. More deets below or contact me for info. (To see image full-sized, click on it to open in a new window & use the magnify function).
