MACHINE GUN FUN (1978)
My first band THE ELECTRIC VOMIT. I was really into Jimi Hendrix, so his song Machine Gun most likely influenced my guitar on this (he tried to imitate the sound of a machine gun). Look no further than David (Son of Sam) Berkowitz in the lyrics below to figure what era this is from. See Spike Lee's Summer of Sam for additional reference on the Berkowitz & early punk connection.
Pictured below: The very first incarnation of The Electric Vomit with Roy Vanderaa on vocals, my old high school pals Joe Dell on bass & Richard Juster on drums, & yours truly Rick Trembles on guitar (actual musicians on this recording are Roy Vanderaa, Rick Trembles, Guy Lapointe & Carlos Soria from the never-before-released 1979 demo). MACHINE GUN FUN
You don't have to pity me, I went down to the armory, So I could buy myself a gun, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, I'm sick of morning zombies in the Metro, They're so innocent, They don't wanna know, Gonna spray them ten at a time, I can't stand being at the end of the line, Here I go, There they go, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, And I'm gonna kill you and everyone, An inexpensive solution to overpopulation, I wanna kill, gotta kill, wanna kill everyone, My hate is normal, my mind is not bent, It's just my form of entertainment, Hooray, hooray for the golden age gang, Walking in the park, hand in hand, Here comes a couple, they're so wise, My gun's gonna shoot them a big surprise, Here I go, There they go, I don't think that my mom would like it If I went as far as killing my sister, So I think I'll save the bullets to hit the Prime Minister, That night I went to a discothèque, I'm glad I blew them all to heck, I figured I could take over where Bercowitz left off, Wanna see them twitch to the music, bleed & hack & cough, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, Gonna have some machine-gun fun, And I'm gonna kill you and everyone, everyone, everyone, everyone, everyone, Here I go, There they go.
