SNUB SNUB: THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN DEVICES (THE BAND THAT NEVER "WAS") SNUB SNUB began in the late nineties when DEVICES members Rick Trembles & Robert Labelle decided it'd be interesting to chronicle their 20-plus year history playing music in various Montreal bands (AMERICAN DEVICES since 1980) beginning with the first wave of punk rock & ending in the present. Rick & Rob determined to go off on their own & write separate reminiscences so they could compare notes at a later date & see what kind of embellishments, omissions & historical rewrites would result from each others' selective memories. With SNUBDOM.COM, THE AMERICAN DEVICES present the first 2 installments of this experiment. All contents © 2000-2001, Rick Trembles UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION STRICTLY FORBIDDEN

The above was written for Montreal's first punk rag SURFIN' BIRD by Dave Hill who helped found Montreal's 80's electro-pop sensation MEN WITHOUT HATS when they were still trying to be punky-wunky with the guitars. He later joined THE ULTERIOR MOTIVE, THREE O'CLOCK TRAIN & THE AMERICAN DEVICES.
